 All In The timing
By David Ives
Co-Directed by Erin Randolph & Christopher Rivers
March 9 - March 24, 2012

Show contains adult language

Witty and cerebral, Ives comments on relationships, language and mortality in some of the cleverest one-acts to find their way into print.  His humor is sometimes subtle, sometimes absurd, but always entertaining...and at the same time contains a valuable bit of truth...just enough to make the play fun and interesting.

Anne of Green gables
Written by L.M. Montgomery
Adapted by Peter DeLaurier
Directed by Diane Cater

July 20 - August 4, 2012

An enduring classic about an orphan girl, Anne Shirley, from her first encounter with her austere guardian to her thrilling graduation from Queen's Academy.  This play faithfully recreates the memorable events and characters from the brilliant novel including all the tragedies and triumphs that mark Anne's growth from adolescence to early adulthood.  Whether the playgoer is an "old friend" of Anne's or meeting her for the first time, this play will solidify a lasting friendship between the audience and one of literature's most unforgettable characters.

A BAD YEAR FOR TOMATOES
Written by John Patrick

June 15 - June 30, 2012

Fed up with the pressures and demands of her acting career, the famous Myra Marlowe leases a house in tiny Beaver Haven, and settles down to write her autobiography.  She is successful in turning aside the offers pressed on her by her long-time agent, but dealing with her nosy, omnipresent neighbors is a different matter.  In an attempt to shoo them away and gain some privacy, Myra invents a mad, homicidal sister...who occasionally escapes long enough to scare off uninvited visitors.  Complications result when the local handyman develops an affection for "Sister Sadie" (really Myra in a fright wig) and some of the more officious ladies decide it is their Christian duty to save the poor demented Sadie's soul.  in desperation Myra announces that her imaginary sibling has suddenly gone off to Boston -- which brings on the sheriff and the suspicion of murder!  Needless to say, all is straightened out in the end, but the uproarious doings will keep audiences laughing right up to the final curtain, and then some!

John Foley & Gary Fagin

In this sequel to Smoke on the Mountain, the Sanders family returns to Mount Pleasant, NC on Christmas Eve, 1941.  Reverend Oglethorpe has invited them to the Baptist Church to sing and witness, getting the congregation into the holiday spirit before the boys, including one of the sanders' own, are shipped off to World War II.  More than two dozen Christmas carols...and hilarious yuletide stories from the more or less devote Sanders family keep the family laughing, clapping and singing along with Christmas favorites.  Richly entertaining, this wildly infectious musical brings cheer to audience of all ages!

It's the beginning of the dinner rush at the popular restaurant and local landmark music venue, The Flash in the Pan, where the only thing than the food is the fresh lineup of singer songwriters.  But it's not just the receptive crowds and hot mic that keep the talent streaming in night after night.  It's the odds.

There's something special about this place.  the walls are literally covered with autographed pictures of famous singers, songwriters, actors, authors and producers.  And all of them - every last one - used to work here at The Flash before getting their big break.

Tonight the wait staff is composed of the usual eclectic mix of performers and artists all hoping that the strange magic of the place will turn the odds in their favor...

DEATH tRAP
Written by Ira Levin
October 26 - November 10, 2012

This show combines terror and humor in a way that really keeps people on the edge of their seat.  Possibly Ira Levin's best play, this is up there with "Rosemary's Baby."  It is a very suspenseful and surprising story of a down-on-his-luck playwright, his wife and an amateur writer who plans an important role.  Filled with plays within plays withing plays, countless "heart-in-the-mouth" shocks, and a surprising amount of dark humor, you will never forget this play once you have seen it.
